JBL Tune 120TWS Review
Read all about these great headphones in our JBL Tune 120TWS Review below.
While lacking popular attributes such as water resistance or adaptability to sports activities, the JBL Tune 120TWS wireless in-ear headphones bring support for advanced technologies such as voice assistants and on-the-go charging from the included box.
Like other rivals in the True Wireless earbuds category, the Tune 120TWS are equipped with a resonator that is inserted into the ear canal, while the outer part of the earbud is slightly larger. It houses a speaker unit with a diameter of 5.8 millimeters with the corresponding amplification, as well as the rest of the electronics, in the form of a Bluetooth adapter and an integrated battery. The outer segment is modernly designed, with an elongated part that is placed in front, so it also serves to distinguish the left and right earphones. In addition to the LED status signaling diode, there are circular surfaces with a large company logo on the outer body, which also serve as buttons for controlling functions and playback.

Along with the headphones, the package includes a transport box, which, in addition to its protective role, has the function of a charger and a spare battery. The sockets are made in the shape of a bug, and the attachment is magnetic so that the headphones cannot be placed incorrectly. The manufacturer states that the batteries in the headphones allow up to four hours of music enjoyment, while the power bank in the box provides three more charges, ie an additional 12 hours of use. When the box is completely empty, charging to a maximum capacity of 850 milliampere-hours takes less than two hours and is done using the micro-USB cable that comes with the headphones, with the option of a 15-minute charge for one hour of operation.
We especially liked the sound of the vocals, which are vivid and quite rich.
Additional functionality includes telephone conversations thanks to integrated microphones. The headphones also supports voice commands, so you can communicate with Google, Siri, and Bixby Assistant via a microphone.
JBL Tune 120TWS Sound Test
As headphones with a declared range of 20 hertz to 20 kilohertz, the Tune 120TWS delivers very powerful bass. The lowest tones are solid and precise enough, but while retaining the recognizable JBL softness and a pleasant, warmer display. Although the manufacturer points out the Pure Bass sound tuning as one of the main trumps, the truth is that the tonal balance is such that it can quite easily happen that the bass overpowers the rest of the spectrum, especially when it comes to newer productions or tracks with more pronounced bass. JBL does not advise the use of a control application with these headphones, but the correction of the sound parameters can be easily achieved through any application made for that purpose.
Precise tones are also present in the middle part of the spectrum, with a sound that shows no signs of distortion in the entire range. We especially liked the display of vocals, which are colorful and quite rich, and at the same time velvety, which allows for long listening sessions without fatigue. The stage is well measured, without unrealistic width, and with a great display of the size of the instruments. Depth positioning is also present – not to the extent that it can be found in more expensive headphones, but enough to create a convincing three-dimensional display.

The high tones are quite imperceptibly connected to the middle ones and bring a solid amount of detail, which is especially important during the reproduction of live and acoustic recordings. JBL Tune 120TWS therefore very well evoke the atmosphere of a club gig, providing an intimate insight into the music, but also the overall atmosphere. In addition, the pronounced bass is conducive to stadium concerts, so the little bugs bring powerful and energetic reproduction.
Excellent isolation from ambient sounds certainly contributes to good impressions during playback. Although not equipped with ANC (Active Noise Cancellation) system, JBL Tune 120TWS provide excellent insulation, primarily due to the concept itself, and then due to the presence of three pairs of soft silicone finishes in different dimensions, which ensures that each user finds the right size.
If you want to use the controls on the headphones, we recommend that you learn them before use. Limited to only two keys, it means that certain functions are activated by several consecutive presses or one longer one. However, basic functions such as switching to the next track or answering a phone call are performed with one click, which will make things easier at the beginning of the acquaintance.
Conclusion
Overall, the JBL Tune 120TWS wireless in-ear headphones deliver quality sound, ease of use, and advanced features at a very affordable price. Personalization is facilitated thanks to a choice of as many as six colors, so each user will be able to choose the Tune 120TWS to their liking.
